Natural Impressions was born twenty years ago through the love of photography and the great outdoors. The photographic images on the following pages will lead you through the transitions that Natural Impressions and I have made over these years. I cannot boast of studies with famous photographers or degrees from well known schools. My knowledge of photography has been self-taught , and my images have been created through hard work, perseverance, and love of the art.
They are images created from the heart.

My early years as a photographer fostered the belief that photographic images had to be pure and unmanipulated. I sought the best possible photographic moments and tried to capture them without alteration or darkroom manipulation. Mountains, oceans, and natural elements were the focus of my images.

As I moved away from the beliefs that photographs had to be "pure" images with no manipulation, I began looking for ways to create floral images that were out of the ordinary. Exploring different methods, I finally decided on a "painted" look that evolved from experimenting with textured glass filters..jpeg)
With on going changes in my photographic beliefs and attitudes, I am now experimenting with new methods of presenting my images without straying too far from my early beliefs in "pure" photography. As I develop new and different ways of presenting my images, I still strive to maintain the beauty of nature and all it's elements.
